We will be meeting soon to organize the participation of local churches and organiztions. If you would like to play a leadership role in this peaceful, prayerful campaign, please contact Sheryl Dye or Debra Minott, Co-Directors of 40 Days for Life - Indy.
What is 40 Days for Life?
Basically, for 40 days each fall and spring we gather in front of the largest abortion site in Indiana to pray for an end to abortion. We also encourage participants to offer a sacrifice of fasting during the campaign. Fasting does not have to be from food. Some people fast from TV and others fast from gossip. Fasting is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Where and When
We pray in front of Planned Parenthood at 8590 Georgetown Drive, just south of 86th St. in Indianapolis. We pray from 8 am - 6 pm Monday through Saturday and from Noon - 6 pm on Sundays.
You may "signup" to pray for a shift of one or more hours by going to the vigil scheduler at our website: http://www.vigilcalendar.com/indianapolis/login/
You don't have to sign up, you can just come and park on the street just south of the location, but signing up allows us to be sure that we have at least two Prayer Partners present at all times. We provide bibles, rosaries and reading materials or you can bring your own. If you prefer to sit, bring a blanket or chair with you. Families and children supervised by adults are welcome. We have signs you may hold, which have positive messages. We ask you not to bring a home-made sign.
Know that whenever you come you are joining with Prayer Partners in more than 300 other cities all over the world who participate in this peaceful, prayerful campaign of praying and fasting to end abortion.
